Scouting helps build character, teach scouts important skills and give youth advice that will be essential for their entire life!
Cub Scouting can teach you new things and is very fun!
We are a boy scouts BSA troop in East Brunswick and welcome scouts from all neighboring towns! Troop 132 is a place where you can have fun with newfound friends, learn and grow. We also have a Cub Scout pack 132!
Ranks -going all the way from Scout all the way to Eagle- help regulate community service, teach others, learn important skills, pursue your passions as well as many other things. In the Merit Badge business, we have a variety of merit badge counselors for most of the many merit badges. Contrary to popular opinion, BSA doesn't just promote that Wilderness Survival stuff(though there are merit badges related to this topic). Instead you can pick the Music, Family Life, Communication, Space Exploration and many, many more!
BSA Eagle Scouts are deeply respected in the community. After all, it takes a lot of hard work to get there. From Scholarships to Job applications being considered more value, being in Scouts will help you in the education and work areas. Many scouts find that service hours are needed in school- well they're needed for rank advancement too! Troop 132 is always looking for new service hours opportunities for our scouts! Also, scouts reinforces good citizenship. They have quite a few Citizenship Merit Badges- all are Eagle required(meaning that they are necessary for each scout to attain in order to rank up)! So come on and join in on the fun today! In order to become a Eagle Scout, you may want to become a cub scout and then continue with the ranks in Boy Scouts BSA.

Scouting helps youth become happy, healthy, useful citizens through fun and adventure.
Through recreation, Scouting achieves its purpose of helping young people develop physically, intellectually, socially, and spiritually. Scouting is all about building confidence and self-esteem, learning important life skills and leadership skills, team building, outdoor adventure, education, and fun! Scouts learn how to make good choices and to take responsibility for their actions so that they are prepared for their adult life as independent persons.
Scouting helps youth develop academic skills, self-confidence, ethics, leadership skills, and citizenship skills that influence their adult lives.
Our unique programs focused on character development, leadership and outdoor exploration provide a lifetime of benefits!
Troop 132 provides youth with programs and activities that allow them to
While various activities and youth groups teach basic skills and promote teamwork, Troop 132 goes beyond that and encourages youth to achieve a deeper appreciation for service to others in their community.
Troop 132 provides youth with a sense that they are important as individuals. It is communicated to them that those in the Troop 132 family care about what happens to them, regardless of whether a game is won or lost.
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, Troop 132 and scouting in general, promotes activities that lead to personal responsibility and high self-esteem. As a result, when hard decisions have to be made, peer pressure can be resisted and the right choices can be made.
Since 1910, Scouting has helped mold the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. The Boy Scouts of America believes and, through more than a century of experience, understands that helping youth puts us on a path toward a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society.
Scouting, with programs for young men and women, helps meet these six essential needs of the young people growing up in our society:
